I didn’t really learn anything I didn’t already know…

I was hoping to learn more of the business/office side of the food service industry…

Such as how to arrive at retail pricing, how to determine if product is being stolen, etc…

Good book/dvds for someone “completely” stupid in customer service, food prep, basic construction, etc…

Useless to a reasonably educated person…

4 Stars BBQ specific, but very good
Since I am a BBQ’er, I appreciated this video and book. It is packed with useful information and takes a hands-on approach that is great. The host actually shows how to make his food, and gives some great ideas on how to market and save money. The only thing I would ask for is an explaination on how to price items.

The videos are excellent, it’s as if a friend was showing you how to do the business and be successful. Even if you are not planning to do a BBQ concession this package will show you “tricks of the trade” on marketing, operations and using ready-made products with your own twist.

Thanks to the author I learned a lot.

The author did an excellent job at describing ways how to get started in your own concession vending business. I have been operating a ball game concessions stand for over 8 years, next to my day job as a teacher and I have become quite experienced in this field. I know that there is a lot of money to be made with food sales. At sports events, the food and drinks are an essential part of the whole fun, no matter how pricey they are. The only drawbacks are the ever increasing concession fees to set up at the games. This is yet another reason, why owning a business as an independent operator makes a lot of sense.

After reviewing this course, I was able to learn a great deal more about concession sales. If you are thinking about starting out in this field, I can highly recommend it!

I originally bought this for my husband and ended up watching the DVD’s with him. They are really packed with a lot of information and with valuable tips from a real professional.

Now BBQ became our first choice of foods to sell. The recipes in the film are truly wonderful and turned out well the first time we tried them. We also will focus on Tex-Mex foods that are very popular in our area.

The book gave us lots of good ideas that we will use in our own business. The author is right: cooking for fun is one thing- cooking for money is another! It was good to watch someone else do it first. Probably saved me from making lots of mistakes!

Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase and I am glad I found it!

5 Stars A Book For Success
Excellent book to learn what others are doing in the internet world. Needed for everyone to become a 21st century business man. Highly recommended.

1 Star Robert Allen is a crook
This book is filled with stealth marketing and subliminal messages. It appeals well to people’s need for instant gratification and gets people excited enough to take action, but that’s about all it’s useful for.

Robert Allen clearly has affiliate programs with organizations whose products are mentioned in the book. Many of the recommended companies/websites don’t even exist anymore.

This book recommends strategies that will make you money initially, but will hurt your company’s image, and hurt you in the long run. Again, strategies that appeal to peoples need for instant gratification, and sound like attractive choices initially.

Last but not least, Robert Allen will spam you like no other. I constantly get phone calls from out of state, from his organization, asking me to come to one of his seminars, and telling me how great he is. If he’s so great, why isn’t he charging thousands of dollars per seat for his seminars, and selling out in a matter of hours, like he says he does in his book…

Let me tell you 1st hand this guy is a fake. This guy is probably the biggest fake I’ve seen. The people he promises he’s helping are the people he’s actually exploiting and making all his money off of. The only thing he makes money off of is selling books talking about making money.

1 Star Nothing new, full of mistakes
It’s hard to take Internet advice from someone who tells me how to change my email signature in Internet Explorer. That’s a browser, not an email client. He meant Outlook Express, but he doesn’t know the difference. I was not impressed.

On the next page he listed a “very valuable site” which I used five years ago, and which has not been updated in five years and is, in all likelihood, defunct, though I’m certainly not spending $29.95 to find out.

Nothing I didn’t know, and he obviously has no clue about the Internet. Wish I could get a job as his ghostwriter; you obviously don’t have to check your facts.

I am a student about to graduate with tons of debt and was looking for a little help. This book showed me how to balance my debts and build my credit. Mr. Ventura really explained the credit building process to me in a way I could easily understand and also apply. The solutions are things I can actually do!

This is a book I recommend to anyone no matter their debt situation. I love having this book in my house to use as a reference, whenever I need answers. I also really enjoyed Beating the Paycheck to Paycheck Blues by John Ventura. Both are MUST haves!
