4 Stars Info all in one place — very educational
I found this book to be very useful when I was preparing to buy my first house. It explains everything about credit reporting and I picked up a lot of valuable (and interesting) tips (sprinkled liberally throughout the book are boxes containing “Hot Tip”s). Good examples of sample credit reports help you understand how to read yours closely. Sure, a lot of this information can be found free by searching the internet, but it’s handy to have it all in one place, for browsing and study.

3 Stars Good Book If…………
This is a good book if you do not know much about credit, credit reports, The big 3 and how they effect your life.
However, I bought this book for credit repair and there about 20 pages on how to repair credit. For me the book could have been smaller.
If, on the other hand, you have never seen your credit report, don’t know much about the big 3, don’t know how credit works or how to “divorce-proof” your credit, then this is the book for you.

5 Stars Worth Buying
This book helped me understand my credit record and my federal credit record rights and how to correct problems in it. It was really helpful to me after I had experienced some money troubles. I have loaned it to some friends and they benefited from it too. The author, who is a bankruptcy attorney knows what he is talking about.

3 Stars Pretty good book as far as letters, but times have changed.
Very complete as far as the approach to the “classic method” of credit repair but leaves out important methods like debt validation and disputing information on line. - Kristy Welsh, author of “Good Credit is Sexy”.

2 Stars Don’t waste your money
This book contains information that you can get free in the internet. It outlines your rights for you, gives information about the credit bureau but that’s about it. Most of the book does not even directly address credit repair but acquiring credit and keeping good credit–these are of course helpful but not if your immediate concern is credit repair. The only saving grace this book has is its discussion about credit repair companies but then again this information is also on the web. If you have a few hours and would like to save money go on the internet for free resources before buying this book.

3 Stars Depends on what you’re looking for…
I was looking for a serious, detailed text on disputing items on my credit report, first with the CRAs, then with the collectors and finally with the furnishers. I did not find what I was seeking in this title.

This book (like many others) has a short, helpful but brief section on disputes. Most of the book is devoted to ‘understanding’ and ‘improving,’ and not to ‘repairing.’

Frankly, I’ve found the most amount of helpful info online, simply by googling ‘bad + credit + help + sample + letters.’

if you’re reading this review, you are hereby obligated to write your own. if not on this product than on another. c’mon. you know you want to. and if you don’t, you should feel obligated. every time i buy anything from coffee mugs to clothing steamers, i find myself perusing amazon to see what everyone else said about it. this is an invaluable FREE resource unlike some other websites (ahem, consumerreportsucks, ahem excuse me!) which let you use it for, like, 3 days and then start charging your credit card on a monthly basis which effectively bleeds dry anyone who’s ever just wanted to look up the damn list of good vaccum cleaners. phew.

moral of story = do your civic duty: write a review!

This book is worth every penny and plus some. If you are interested in improving your credit score, this book IS the answer. It takes you step by step process in composing letters, what to ask of the credit bureau. Even touches on idenity thief and plus how to dispute in any case, and a lot more, too much to mention. Highly recommended.

It’s hard to know what to expect when you order an item like this. I went off the only review available and took a chance. Glad I did. This is a very good product. Sure, some of the information is available elsewhere but the presentation format, 1. A 291 Page Manual (a good portion includes applicable credit repair laws, 2. Four Audio CD’s and, 3. One Forms CD is very complete and covers my personal credit needs.

Also shows how to deal with creditors, how to repair your own credit and rebuild after bankruptcy and how to acquire new credit if self employed like me.

I had a question regarding my order and they responded immediately to my full satisfaction. I’m so impressed I ordered another product from these same folks. Shipping was very fast via Priority Mail. Highly recommended.

You could do a lot worse out there.

5 Stars packed with good information
I recently moved to the U.S. and didn’t know anything about the U.S. credit system. This book and CD had all the information to help me quickly get credit and also tips on which types of credit would help my credit score the most. My friends borrowed it because it also has information on how to negotiate with creditors, how to settle debt at reduced amounts, how to remove negative credit information and how to rebuild credit after bankruptcy. I looked at several guides but this one has the most information packed into one source!

5 Stars Worth Every Penny!
While it is true that some of the strategies are “pass?” for the information age, the principles still apply. I have raised my credit ration to a `Good” category, and my husband’s to an excellent. I have some more items that will be coming off of my credit report, which should hopefully put me in the excellent category as well.

The main thing is to exercise your rights. If you read the book, but don’t act, it’s all academic. But I have acted, with great success!

. . . a bit outdated. It is an important book to get for anyone that wants control of their Credit Score. It does a great job describing and facilitates understanding of the credit reporting process. As well, it explains the choice of procedures one may have to pursue an optimal Score. By stressing the rights of the individual, it makes you understand the rules. However, it comes a little short when it comes down to Rebuilding the credit it comes a little short. Some of the strategies are very passe in the information age. It’s in dire need of a revision to recieve a 5 Stars Thank you.

This is by far the most informative and effective book on credit repair I have ever read.As with all “how to” books,it’s efficacy is contingent upon how much effort you actually put into implementing the advice it contains and believe me,there is Plenty of usefull,little known facts on the sleaziness of the credit card industry and the credit bureaus.Mr.Goldstien even includes the entire Fair Credit Reporting Act law at the end!After my divource,my credit was a mess.Armed with this information I have managed to clear up my report beyond my expectations.I have read other books on credit repair that basicly said there was nothing I could do for seven years to clear my name and credit.Not So!This Book is guaranteed to work but again,as with everything,you have to do the leg work.
